Camp Shaver is a YMCA summer camp located outside of Albuquerque, New Mexico. In 2004, the new director was just getting started and wanted to create an online presence for his camp for the first time in their 65 year history. Their budget was tight (we love the YMCA) so we pinched and squeezed and made a pretty sweet little site for them. Over the years, as Phil (director of said camp) has improved the camp more and more, he has made it a priority to update the website so that it is a place for campers, counselors, and alumni of ages past to reunite and share their memories. This year's update FAR surpasses anything we've done the last few years on their site - so much so that we are moving it up to the "feature section" of our recent projects. That's how great we think it is.

This brand new site has an attractive design done by one of our incredibly brilliant designers. And then the magic of PHP/MySQL was implemented by one of our most stellar programmers. Sometimes I just sit back and I'm amazed at what they can do. AND... we kept it in the YMCA Camp budget... which is in and of itself quite a feat. People are welcomed by a fun video on the homepage, and then they can click through to learn more about this historic camp. They can register as camp alumni online and post messages to the other campers, sign up for quarterly newsletters, flip through the photo gallery that dates way back to 2004 (my, how they've changed), and even register online for camp next summer. Life is good at Camp Shaver. If you are too old to sign up (14 and under, please) then you can live vicariously through the website. Take a looksy.
